Markus Österlund

Markus Österlund is Secretary General of the Swedish Assembly of Finland (since 2011).

Prior to this he was Programme Director for an Action Plan for a Bilingual Finland, headed by President Martti Ahtisaari (2010-2011), Head of Cabinet of MEP Henrik Lax (2007-2009), as well as Policy Adviser to Ulla-Maj Wideroos, Coordinate Minister of Finance in Finland (2004-2007). Markus has also been a lecturer and researcher at various universities in Finland, Peru and the USA. He holds a Dr. Soc. Sci. (International Relations) and a Ma. Soc. Sci. (Political Science & Economics) from Helsinki University.
